Bright Green Homes win Silver Standard
Back

Places for People’s Bright Green Homes development in Sheffield
has been awarded a Silver Standard by Building for Life, which
recognises design excellence and best practice in the house
building industry.
The 47 eco-homes - in the Norfolk Park area of the city - have a
variety of environmentally friendly features including solar
panels, water-saving spray taps, and insulation systems made from
recycled rags and newspapers.
They were judged on criteria which include the provision of
community facilities and a mix of tenures that reflects the
community’s needs and aspirations, as well as high quality,
distinctive design.
Places for People is one of the lead partners in the multi-million
pound regeneration of the Norfolk Park, having already developed
over 300 new homes in the area, alongside an award-winning
extra-care scheme for older people, called Guildford Grange.
Building for Life is a partnership led by the Commission for
Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and the Home Builders
Federation (HBF). For more information, please visit http://www.buildingforlife.org/
